Ladang Kampung Banjar was established in Teluk Intan, Perak in 1989. The Company’s principal business activity is in the cultivation of oil palm in a sustainable manner.
Prior to the 1970s, agriculture formed the backbone of Malaysia’s economic growth. Currently, there are five million hectares of land in Malaysia being cultivated for palm oil, while only one million hectares are devoted to the cultivation of food crops. Local food supply is important to reduce the dependence of the nation on imports. At present, Malaysia only produces 34% of fruits and 60% of vegetables required for the domestic market.
After identifying the need for better food security and the econnomic value of the agro-food sector, we are now diversifying into lowland precision cash crop and animal feed production using the latest growing technology and irrigation systems.
